My Montessori journey began in 2008 with the birth of my daughter, igniting a deep and lifelong passion for early childhood education. From that pivotal moment, I have dedicated myself to nurturing children and guiding parents. My academic background in management from the University of Madras and corporate experience in Media and Advertising gave me a strong foundation in leadership and strategic thinking. However, it was Montessori education that truly called to me, leading me to create an environment where children could thrive.
As I observed the transformative power of Montessori in my daughter's classroom, I felt compelled to open my school. Over four years, I served as the Director and Head Curriculum Coordinator, building a community of passionate educators and engaged families. During this period, I honed my ability to balance the demands of leadership with a deep commitment to the Montessori philosophy. I furthered my professional development by earning my Association Montessori Internationale Primary certification and completing an Entrepreneurial Program for Women at the Indian School of Business. I worked as my school's Business Director and Primary Montessori Lead Guide at an AMI Montessori School in India.
In 2018, after completing my 0-3 (Birth to Three) training with the Association Montessori Internationale, I joined Bellevue Montessori School, where I currently serve as the Director of the Toddler program. I have had the privilege of leading the school's communication and community engagement initiatives, fostering a sense of connection and collaboration among staff, parents, and students alike. I also serve as a Montessori Trainer with MEIPN, where I have the honor of training Infant Toddler teachers in training, passing on the principles and practices of Montessori education to the next generation of educators.
I believe in the power of education to shape not just individuals but entire communities. As someone who has seen firsthand the impact of Montessori principles, I am deeply committed to creating an environment where children can grow into confident, curious, and compassionate individuals. My experience working on the Dyslexia Committee for the Northshore School District has reinforced my belief in the importance of inclusivity and meeting the diverse needs of every child.
Beyond my professional pursuits, I am a trained Reiki practitioner, an Indian classical dancer, and an occasional blogger. I find joy in cooking, trying different vegetarian cuisines, and hiking and nature walks, which allow me to stay grounded and connected to the world. These personal interests enrich my work as an educator, fostering mindfulness, creativity, and balance in everything I do.
